Systematic Racism - The absence of the American Dream.


 The United States of America is the big lie.  It is noted as the land of the free and the home of the brave.

The land of milk and honey where all men are created equal with liberty and justice for all.  

That was an easy sell to me back in 1967 when I was about 5 years old.  I knew that racism existed but I also knew there was a civil rights movement that was established to bring about change in America.

The civil rights era helped to level the playing field. It brought about change on the surface. It also helped black and non-white families get better opportunities for success.

Civil rights presented great change on the surface.  It also cause many to hide their true feelings because they wanted to fit in and ride the wave of American prosperity.  "United we stand, divided we fall and if our backs should ever be against the wall,  we will be together you and I," was the popular phrase/song back then.  However, behind the scenes, White America was making it so the Non-whites in America would have a hard time trying to find America's yellow brick road.

And those who found it had better stay in step and toe the line otherwise they would find themselves back in the no-zip sorting bin.  Wondering what the hell happened? how did it happen? And why did it happen?  Totally perplexed. Confused because they did everything they were asked to do.  They did it almost exactly if not better than their White counterparts but still failed.

Yes back then we had an idea the cards were stacked against us.  We just did not know it was so many decks of cards stacked against us.   The term "The Man" became popular quick.   Because "The Man" controlled everything.  The Schools, the grocery store, the hospital, the police force the Military,
